5 Star Movies

5 Star Movies: Hotel Artemis, Don’t Worry He Won’t Get Far on Foot, Skyscraper, Active Measures, Hotel Transylvania 3

Hotel Artemis: A bleak futuristic movie that does a great job creating its own little world, even if it doesn’t quite payoff on what it created. Still pretty fun to look at, and it’s got Batista acting in multiple scenes with Jodie Foster. ***

Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot: Gus Van Sant directing, Joaquin Phoenix starring and in a wheelchair, Jonah Hill wearing a wig and playing an AA sponsor. Hell of a movie. ****

Skyscraper: Probably in the lower-end of dumb Rock action movies, but still a dumb Rock action movie and fun enough. **

Active Measures: Fascinating, well laid out digest of Donald Trump’s connections to Russia with some big names (including Hillary Clinton and John McCain) providing commentary throughout. This story isn’t over, but this is a heck of a primer. ****

Hotel Transylvania 3: This thing is still going, baby. I like the creative folks behind this but it’s very Direct-to-DVD sequel territory now. **
