Maze Runner: The Death Cure: And here we’ve reached the point in the franchise where a lot is happening but the stakes don’t feel so high. This turned into a zombie movie at some point I think. *
Father Figures: There’s the occasional charm here but Owen Wilson and Ed Helms aren’t some comedic duo and like 1/10 jokes land. *1/2
Hostiles: A gorgeous, sprawling movie that maybe wasn’t all that interesting. This had all the ingredients of a great movie but just… wasn’t. **3/4
Megan Leavey: Look – this isn’t some classic and the first 90% is the most basic bullshit stuff but WHEN SHE REUNITES WITH HER DOG IT IS SO GOOD. SO GOOD. ***1/4
The Week Of: Adam Sandler is still doing dumb uninspired shit, even if there’s a few laughs to be found here. Chris Rock is here too. *1/4
