Tenet: Like if Christopher Nolan collaborated with WWE or something, plenty of effort in production, great effort from the boys, and a few epic moments… but I couldn’t follow a goddamn thing going on and there wasn’t really a payoff. A movie trying too hard. **3/4
Shiva Baby: Small, short and independent — this was fun, with quality performances from some new faces. ***1/4
The Outside Story: Brian Tyree Henry gets locked outside and has a whole day. As a showcase for him it kind of rules, even if it’s all a little too cliche and convenient. ***
Eat Wheaties!: Tony Hale is a silly guy still obsessed with his friend from college, Elizabeth Banks. Pleasant lead role performance from Tony. ***
Luca: This was the first movie besides Cars my 3-year-old actually sat down and watched more than half of, so it’s just going to be a sentimental favorite. It’s got a Little Mermaid but with buddies vibe going, and it also serves as a quality animated love letter to Italy. ****
