War for the Planet of Apes: I don’t feel for movie characters like I do for these apes. Great action, great heist thrills, great characters, tugging of the heart-strings, impressive visual effects. A tremendous finale to a tremendous franchise. ****1/2
Going in Style: It’s silly, but it’s also a solid heist movie with Morgan Freeman, Alan Arkin and Michael Caine having a good time. Randomly directed by Zach Braff too. ***

Despicable Me 3: There’s fun and games, there’s conflict, there’s resolution. It is exactly the movie you’d expect at three deep. The lead villain being played by Trey Parker was the most interesting part. *3/4
