Bushwick: This movie has a really cool atmosphere, as feels like it’s done in one take in this chaotic apocalyptic world. Love Big Dave. ***1/4
Thor: Ragnarok: The most fun Marvel movie in forever…Thor is doing shtick, the talented director is voicing a hilarious side character, Jeff Goldblum is being Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson is being a badass, HULK SMASH. Yeah baby. ****
Star Wars: The Last Jedi: A total blast, even if it was a bit all over the place and didn’t really set up any heat for the next one. It is the first Star Wars movie that doesn’t quite feel like Star Wars, for better or worse. But who cares – STAR WARS!!! Crazy fun. ***3/4
Atomic Blonde: A little empty, but this is a fun spy thriller with some good tunes and sweet brutal action. ***
Mudbound: A sprawling epic during sharecropping. It’s great stuff – acting, costumes, soundtrack, story. The torture scene felt unnecessary though. ****
