Me Time: Not good. Regina Hall was there too, and it still was not good. *
Summering: Mumblecore mystery about pre-teens who find a dead body that was aimless and boring. Bummer. **
Thor: Love & Thunder: Like a reunion special for Thor: Ragnarok’s lovable characters without the chemistry or charm or inventiveness, really. Plus Natalie Portman was back! The MCU contractually mandates its’ movies to at least kind of be fun but overall this felt like inferior product. **3/4
The Batman: Great gritty crime drama that just so happened to be a Batman movie. The runtime was long but the plot was simple, world felt textured, and all the acting was just going for IT. ****1/2
Vengeance: BJ Novak wrote/directed/starred in this story of a journalist who gets embroiled in a girl’s murder because of his podcast, and Ryan Howard is always going to be a little interesting to me but too much felt either convenient or inauthentic, all the way until the strange finish punctuated by strange music cue. ***
