All the Old Knives: One of those throwback spy thrillers, heavy on talent but light on standing out or even really grabbing you at any point. ***
KIMI: Steven Sorderbergh has done it again: directed an efficient, entertaining film rife with suspense. Zoë Kravitz? Phenomenal! ***1/2
Gold: Zac Efron and his bushy beard are stranded in a desert. The setting is bleak and I didn’t think Efron’s performance — while pretty good — was up to the task to take this anywhere else but “good, but a bummer.” ***1/4
Moonfall: Roland Emmerich’s latest disaster movie is tonally ridiculous but has plenty – plenty! – of delightful science (non!?) fiction fun. ***1/4
Dune: Sweeping and engrossing lore, gorgeous and impressive presentation, and sort of deserving of its’ 2-and-a-half-hour runtime… New Dune was a winner. ****
