The Tragedy of Macbeth: Like any good Shakespeare story, Macbeth depends on the delivery. Here was Denzel Washington, Frances McDormand, and a stellar supporting cast directed by one-half of the Coen Brothers delivering it very well. Engrossing and a little scary. ****
Jackass Forever: The boys are back and in their advanced ages doing more observing than stunts, but the Jackass brand has somehow paced itself well enough to still deliver its’ gross and sentimental chuckles. ***1/4
Big Bug: This is a nutty French sci-fi movie that tried too hard or too much to really hit, but is still probably worth checking out just to admire the elaborate costumes and set pieces. ***
The Adam Project: The premise is more interesting than Red Notice, but this was another empty and bad movie from Ryan Reynolds and Netflix. *3/4
Free Guy: This is what every bad Ryan Reynolds on Netflix movie wishes it was, if the ambition is even there. It’s silly and a little over-stuffed, but stays charming and closes strong. ***3/4
