News of the World: If Tom Hanks as the lead of a Western that is directed by Paul Greengrass sounds like your kind of thing, then you may enjoy this movie. I personally only sort of did. A little slow. ***1/4
The Mauritanian: As important as the story is, the movie was a little stuffy. Lots of Jodie Foster in a room negotiating. Love Jodie Foster but c’mon. ***
Stowaway: Anna Kendrick is in space! Her and the crew are making choices. It’s fine. ***
Army of the Dead: Big Tig and Dave Batista couldn’t carry a movie that felt an hour-and-a-half too long. Just stuffed with ideas and backstories that came and went. *1/2
Minari: Just a quality movie, every part handled with care and a warmth throughout. Gram’s performance is astonishing, really something special. ****
