Klaus: For a movie about the Santa Claus origin story, this manages to still have a niche. Norm McDonald having a prominent role is one of the best decisions a cartoon has ever made too. It’s got stuff to say and says it in a sweet way – well done. ****
I Lost My Body: Incredible animation, both how it looks and what it does, but the main conflict and relationship never felt as incredible as the animation. ***1/4
Missing Link: Another incredible feat of animation, but despite Zach Galifianakis providing a great lead voice it doesn’t go beyond ultra-basic kids cartoon. **3/4
Dark Waters: Mark Ruffalo can act, Todd Haynes can direct, and the story is interesting. A fine, by-the-books film. ***
The Lighthouse: Incredible acting, mind-altering use of lighting, but also it ultimately felt like a bunch of creepy shit. **1/2
