1. Jay White, YOSHI-HASHI & Chuckie T vs. Hangman Page & The Young Bucks
Hey! It’s the first CHUCKIE T match on AXS! This was a good old-fashioned crowd-pleasing 6-man – got some pops, did some superkicks, kinda sorta built up White vs. Page. Ain’t nothin’ deep here, man, but it worked well enough and half of Korakuen had a smile on their face. **3/4
2. Kenny Omega & Kota Ibushi vs. Cody & Marty Scurll
This match brought the SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT and I dug the hell out of it. Even the entrances were high-end: Cody has put LEADER on his tights, which is hilarious, while Kenny Omega as a full-on babyface smiling and slapping hands and living his best life is incredible.
This was well laid out to tell a STORY, baby. Tons of great moments: Cody trying to avoid Kenny at first, then Kenny dodging Scurll and springboard diving onto Cody in the front row. Cody blowing a kiss to Ibushi and eventually KISSING Ibushi to MONSTER HEAT. Cody and Scurll stopping the double triangle moonsault and working over Ibushi. Cody biffing an insane corner-to-corner springboard plancha. The Golden Lovers pleasure with each other after their insane double teams. Kenny saving Ibushi from the apron Crossroads with a V-Trigger. Ibushi landing on his FEET off the springboard dropkick Doomsday Device. And the crowd was buying into everything. Thought they could’ve got some more out of the Ibushi heat, but Kenny and Ibushi are just so fun to watch on offense and the match was a blast. Big awesome finishing stretch too. ***3/4
Post-match, The Young Bucks confront the Golden Lovers and announce that they’re heavyweights, setting up a big Bucks vs. Lovers match. Sweet!
