Toni Erdmann: A great spin on the father tries to re-connect with his daughter story, but why’d it have to be so long!? ***1/2
David Brent: Life on the Road: If you enjoyed the original The Office you should love this, it’s basically comfort food movie. I miss the main characters but this is such awkward hilarious fun. ***1/2
45 Years: Charlotte Rampling is excellent as an older married woman who by the end of the movie is tired of her husband’s shit. There is a lot of sadness here, but it builds in an interesting way and closes oddly satisfying. ***3/4
99 Homes: Excellent movie about HOUSING. Michael Shannon as a straight-up piece of shit businessman is incredible. Great performances all around (Garfield, Dern) and god damn do the eviction scenes get heavy. The scene with the elderly man… Jesus. ****1/4
Imperium: Not great or anything but an interesting movie that takes you into a wild world… of white supremacy. Daniel Radcliffe is a freak. ***1/4
