The Dilemma: Everybody is old and out of touch. A less funny and likable Hall Pass. *3/4
The Adjustment Bureau: Great premise that wasn’t executed perfectly but was still really interesting. Fun thriller, good love story, good performances, and creepy stuff from any actor playing the Bureau. ***1/2
Cedar Rapids: A sweet earnest movie with Ed Helms at just about the height of powers. A little slow and nothing groundbreaking but it’s a light good time. **3/4
Rise of the Planet of the Apes: Fast pace, great action, characters you care about, engaging action, and APES!!! This movie has one of my two favorite theater experiences, as something happens where you can just feel everybody gasp and then go silent at once. Incredible movie, a Blockbuster done right. *****
Crazy, Stupid, Love: This movie had the other favorite theater experience, one of the best reactions to a twist I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Fun comedy, great cast. ****
