Peep World: Huge cast of talented folks but everyone’s having too much fun playing a dick that there’s nobody to root for. Also wraps up poorly. **
Super: This is a movie about Rainn Wilson being a normal guy who becomes a superhero and it was a breezy enough movie that felt like a satire for a while but then it kind of became the movie it was satirizing. And it wasn’t fun to watch – everyone’s terrible and the over-the-top violence is silly. My wife references this movie to this day as the stock answer for bad movie. DU
Limitless: Fun popcorn thriller and a star-making Bradley Cooper performance about a guy who basically learns what Adderall is in a world where nobody else does. I wish they didn’t use the interesting concept and go right to making it all about money… but they did. ***1/2
Waking Sleeping Beauty: An interesting textbook on the rise of Disney with input from all the big names. It’s the behind the scenes of my childhood. Loved all the animations. ***3/4
