Assassin’s Creed: It occurs to me how much work went into this movie. It just isn’t very good. Not goofy enough to be fun, not serious enough to be compelling. Just a stupid video game movie. 1/2*
Now You See Me 2: This has its moments and has a charismatic cast, but it felt unnecessary and there’s way too much “we are smarter than all these regular human beings” BS. Radcliffe is again great, but this rarely grabbed me. **1/2
Independence Day: Resurgence: No one needed it and the movie reflects that. Just another alien invasion gimmick with a little more money thrown at it… effects, underdeveloped cameos, references to a movie from 20 years ago… eh. *1/4
Bleed for This: Miles Teller is great and seeing Aaron Eckhart play a balding coach was an interesting thing. It hits the right notes it’s just a SUPER straightforward boxing movie. Was surprised his girlfriend didn’t stay at her sisters. **3/4
13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi: This thing is freaking long. It is intense and damn is the compound getting overrun a marvel to look at, but MAN is this long. **
